Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players is one of the classics of the poker
literature. This book is extremely well written, and it's hard for me to
believe that many players are likely to master today's games without having
read and studied this text. Further, the 21st Century Edition is, in my
opinion, enough of an improvement over the first edition that those who have
already read the 1988 version should buy and read the new edition as well.

There are many ways to become an expert hold 'em player, and although no
book alone will do the trick, I feel that this book will give most people a
head-start. It's dense with information and ideas, and you will need to read
and re-read, to get the most out of it. The level of play taught in this
book is sophisticated and complicated, but the difficulty lies in gaining
true understanding, not in reading it. The flow of the text is colloquial
and easy-to-manage, to the verge of deceiptful, because reading it like a
story will make you miss out a lot of pearls.

Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players is one of the best books for experienced
hold'em players looking to bring their game up to the next level. It’s a
wealth of excellent information that should never be overlooked. I'd
recommend it to experienced players looking to improve their skills.
